Privacy Policy

Effective Date: March 21, 2026  •  Last Updated: March 21, 2026  •  Site: apcyber.net

This site collects zero personal data

apcyber.net is a free, open educational resource. There are no accounts, no logins, no cookies, no tracking, and no analytics. Nothing you do on this site is recorded, stored, or transmitted anywhere.

Section 1

What We Collect

Nothing. This site does not collect, store, process, or transmit any personal information from visitors. Specifically, we do not collect:

  • Names, email addresses, or any contact information
  • IP addresses or device identifiers
  • Browser fingerprints or geolocation data
  • Cookies or persistent identifiers of any kind
  • Usage data, page views, or session recordings
  • Quiz answers, scores, or any activity data
  • Student or teacher information of any kind
Section 2

How the Site Works

apcyber.net is a collection of static HTML files hosted on Netlify. All interactive features — quizzes, flashcards, scenario tools — run entirely within your browser. No data is sent to any server operated by this site.

The AI-powered features (Flashcard Generator, AI Tutor, Spot the Attack, Synthesis Quiz, Defense Builder, and Attack Chain Mapper) send the text you type into those tools to Anthropic’s Claude API to generate responses. This is the only outbound data transmission from this site. We have no access to these requests. Do not enter any personally identifiable information into AI prompt fields. Anthropic’s Privacy Policy governs their handling of API requests.

Google Fonts are loaded from Google’s CDN for typography. No analytics platform, advertising network, tracking pixel, or session recording tool is installed on this site.

Section 3

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of any kind. Your browser will not receive any cookie from apcyber.net.

Section 4

Advertising

There are no advertisements on this site. No ad networks, sponsored content, affiliate links, or paid placements exist anywhere on apcyber.net.

Section 5

Children’s Privacy (COPPA), FERPA & CIPA

COPPA: Because we collect no personal information from anyone — including children under 13 — COPPA’s parental consent requirements are not triggered.

FERPA: Because this site collects no student data and maintains no student records, FERPA does not apply to the operation of this site. No education records are created, stored, or maintained here.

CIPA: This site supports school CIPA compliance. It contains no social features, no user-generated public content, no advertising, no chat, and no links to content harmful to minors.

Section 6

Changes & Contact

If this site ever begins collecting any data, this policy will be updated before that change takes effect. Because there are no user accounts, we have no way to notify users directly — check this page for the current policy.

Free and open educational resource

apcyber.net is provided at no cost for educational use. No accounts, no data collection, no restrictions on access. By using this site you agree to the simple terms below.

Section 1

Agreement

By accessing apcyber.net you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Section 2

Permitted Use

This site is provided for lawful educational purposes, including AP Cybersecurity classroom instruction, student exam preparation, and teacher professional learning. It may be used by students, teachers, and administrators at accredited K–12 schools at no cost with no account required.

Section 3

Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use this site for any purpose other than lawful educational activities
  • Scrape or systematically harvest site content for commercial redistribution
  • Use AI-powered features to generate harmful or inappropriate content
  • Enter any student’s personally identifiable information into any field on this site
  • Interfere with or disrupt the technical operation of the site
Section 4

AI-Powered Features

Several tools use Anthropic’s Claude API to generate educational content. AI-generated content may occasionally contain inaccuracies and should be treated as a supplemental learning aid, not a definitive source. Do not enter student names, IDs, or other personal information into AI prompt fields.

Section 5

Intellectual Property

College Board & AP® Trademark Notice: AP® and Advanced Placement® are registered trademarks of the College Board. The AP Cybersecurity course name, curriculum framework, learning objectives, and exam format are the intellectual property of the College Board. This site is an independent, unofficial supplemental educational resource and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, authorized by, or sponsored by the College Board in any way. No claim is made to any College Board intellectual property. References to the AP Cybersecurity course are for descriptive purposes only, identifying the course this resource is designed to supplement. Teachers and students should consult AP Central for all official course materials, exam information, and registration.

Original site content — including Socratic Anchor Guides, question banks, and scenario designs — is the intellectual property of Jonathan Lillie. Teachers receive a free, non-exclusive license for classroom use. Redistribution or resale for commercial purposes without written permission is prohibited.

Commercial Activity & Scope

This site itself does not conduct direct commercial transactions. Supplemental educational materials (Socratic Anchor Guides) are sold exclusively through Teachers Pay Teachers, a third-party marketplace. All commercial transactions are governed by Teachers Pay Teachers’ terms of service. This site contains no payment processing, no checkout flow, and no direct e-commerce.

This resource is intended for use by AP Cybersecurity teachers and students as an independent study supplement. It is not a school-sponsored platform, does not constitute an official course, and does not replace or supersede any official College Board materials or programs.

Student Use & Data Protection

This site may be accessed by students, including minors, as a supplemental study tool. We have designed the site with student privacy as a foundational principle:

  • No accounts, logins, or registration of any kind
  • No collection of names, email addresses, or any personally identifiable information
  • No tracking of individual student activity or performance
  • No storage of assessment results or education records of any kind
  • No cookies beyond session storage used temporarily for AI key management (browser-only, never transmitted to our server)
  • No third-party advertising or behavioral tracking

Because no student data of any kind is collected, stored, or processed, FERPA, COPPA, and CIPA compliance obligations do not apply to this site’s operation. AI tools require users to supply their own API keys from third-party providers (Google, OpenAI, or Anthropic); those interactions are governed by each provider’s own privacy policies and terms of service.

Section 6

Disclaimer

This site is provided “as is” for educational purposes without warranty of any kind. We make no representations that the site will be error-free or perfectly aligned with the AP Cybersecurity curriculum at all times. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential damages from use of this site.

Section 7

Governing Law & Contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Forsyth County, Georgia.
