Tuning the Update Cadence on a Workstation

SY0-701 · 2.5 Patching SY0-701 · 4.1 Hardening

Scenario. You are Priya Anand, the only IT specialist at Marlowe & Vance, a small architecture studio. A drafting workstation named DRAFT-07 keeps pulling brand-new Windows feature releases that the studio's CAD vendor has not yet certified, which has twice broken the plotting workflow mid-deadline.

Leadership wants a calmer cadence: hold the big feature releases back, let routine security fixes through quickly, also patch the Office apps, and let device drivers and icons install themselves so the wide-format plotters set up without a help-desk visit.
