Power and Place: PoE VoIP Install

Saltmarsh Roastery swapped its wiring-closet switch for a Power-over-Ethernet model. Retire the desk-phone power bricks, drop a new phone into the roasting bay between the wall jack and the PC, and prove the workstation still reaches the internet.

Roasting Bay — new phone install

Wall drop from SR-SW1 port 8 currently lands on the PC NIC.
Workstation roast-bay-pc · NIC Link: drop → PC

Tip: the phone carries its own 2-port switch — the wall drop feeds its NET port, the desktop hangs off its PC port.

Verify connectivity after re-cabling. Try: ping 10.40.16.1 (default gateway) ping 203.0.113.254 (ISP edge) Type help for commands.
