Networking closet — physical layer
Quillen & Vale is moving off its old copper-modem ISP onto Tidewater Fiber. The ISP terminated a single-mode (OS2) pair on the LC fiber patch panel: position A7 is the ISP's transmit (Tx), position A8 is the ISP's receive (Rx). Your edge router edge-gw-01 has only copper RJ-45 WAN ports — no SFP cage — so a media converter must bridge fiber to copper. Stage the converter, run the fiber with the correct Tx → Rx crossover, move the WAN copper handoff off the retired wall jack, power it from the UPS critical-load bank, then verify reachability.
