You're the part-time tech aide at the Cormorant Cove branch library. The design station maker-cad-07 keeps stalling when it pushes big 3-D print files to the file server cormorant-fs01 (10.42.7.10). The fix: install the fastest available network adapter, patch it to the wall jack with a cable that can actually carry that speed across the 70-meter run to the wiring closet, then verify the station can reach the file server and the internet.

1 Install an adapter

Open the chassis and seat the card with the highest link speed. Only one slot is free.

Pick a patch cable, then connect the card's port to the wall jack. The run to the closet is 70 m.
